The most popular vision panel styles are shown below, although other designs can be accommodated. All aperture dimensions shown are cut-out sizes and the appropriate margin should be deducted to give the clear view size. A selection of glazing systems is available to suit styles as shown.

Beaded glazing systems

Timber
These systems are suitable for most aperture shapes. Beads can be polished. left clean or painted to match the door face, and fixed with steel pins or cup and screws. Apertures are single glazed with either wired or unwired glass.

Hardwood Bolection Beads

Steel Trim
Using a stainless steel or powder coated steel trim to match or contrast with the door face. Apertures can be circular, rectangular or square and are single glazed with either wired or unwired glass.

Louvres and grilles
All transfer grilles or louvres can be applied to some Plasform® doors and can achieve up to 60 minutes fire resistance with BWF - Certifire approval. Please contact our Technical Services Department for further details.

Intelliglass®

Intelliglass® obscurable vision panels provide the ideal solution where privacy may be required, for example in environments such as hospitals, consulting rooms, banks, therapy rooms, commercial offices and schools.

Intelliglass® vision panels utilise liquid crystals which are sandwiched between two layers of transparent conductive film to make LC Privacy Film. The film is then laminated between two pieces of glass. When electricity is applied to the film the liquid crystals line up and the vision panel is clear. When the power is turned off, the liquid crystals return to their normal positions and turn the glass from clear to obscured.

The panels can be changed from clear to frosted at the flick of a switch. This intelligent glazing system can be automatically or remotely controlled by connection to a PC or by wireless connection or simply a switch adjacent to the doorset. As there are no protrusions to cause dust or dirt build-up, they are ideal for locations where hygiene is of prime importance.

The high-tech Intelliglass® vision panel solution obviates the need for cumbersome mechanical systems, blinds, shutters or curtains.

Frames
Details of available frame profiles are given in Frames, Seals and Reduced Swing. Frame facing options for Mono, Cubith and Barum profiles are:
Hygieniform High Impact PVC
A through-coloured, white, 1mm thick PVC
MDF or hardwood primed
Hardwood polished with Hyalux polish with Hygienilac® additive
Hardwood with one coat of sealer

Frame facing options for the Solo/Split Solo profile are:
Brushed stainless steel
Powder coated
