Leaderflush Shapland recommend doorsets
should be installed as a late second fix item.
Installation Ideally, Plasform® doorsets should
be considered as late second fix items, not for installation
until all 'wet trades' have finished.
All main frame sections are supplied pre-bored and countersunk
ready for fixing with wood screws, proprietary expanding bolt
systems or self-tapping screws. Matching caps are provided to
conceal fixings. Any voids between the back of the frame and
wall structure should be sealed in accordance with BS 8214.
Architraves and loose stops, where supplied, are attached to the
jamb by a secret fix tongue which should be finally secured
using a bead of adhesive. Architraves are supplied mitred for
easy site assembly.
On-site All doorsets are carefully wrapped and
protected to avoid damage during transportation. To simplify
handling, doors and frames are packaged separately. All items
are carefully labelled for straightforward reassembly on-site.
To avoid damage on-site, it is important that doorsets are
stored in dry conditions, with a relative humidity of 40% to
60%, and stacked flat on a minimum of 3 bearers.
Maintenance For laminates, soap and water or mild
detergent will usually clean the surface satisfactorily. Colour
paints are available to repair scratches or other damage.
For PVC surfaces, most marks can be cleaned off as above.
Tougher stains, such as grease, marker inks or paints can be
removed with a proprietary cleaner and soft bristle brush.
Powder-based cleaners, bleaches or ammonia should not be used as
they can leave a residue unless carefully rinsed off. We
recommend proprietary cleaners to be tested on a small area
prior to cleaning large areas.
